Click 'Start' > Select 'Settings' > Select 'Control Panel' > Select 'Java' or 'Java Plug-in' > Select 'About' You need Sun Microsystems Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Version 5.0 or later, installed in your browser in order to use some features of this website (in particluar, the CFEV Site Examination tool). If you do not see Java or Java Plug-in, you do not have Java installed on your PC. You need to install JRE version 5.0 or later on your computer as per the instructions below. If you have JRE version 5.0 or later you have the correct version installed. Otherwise, you need to uninstall any old versions of Java you have installed. Use Add/Remove Programs in the Microsoft Windows Control Panel. Click 'Start' > Select 'Settings' > Select 'Control Panel' > Double click the Add/Remove Programs control panel icon. The Add/Remove control panel displays a list of software on your computer. Select J2SE Runtime Environment or Java 2 Runtime Environment, and click the Remove button. Download Sun Microsystems Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Version 5.0 or later from www.java.com and follow the intructions given. Note: Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Version 5.0 is also known as Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Version 1.5.0 Browser SettingsYou must ensure that Java is enabled in your browser. For Internet Explorer users,Click 'Tools' > Select 'Internet Options' > Select 'Advanced' Tab. You then need to ensure that the 'Java (Sun)' option is ticked. If it is not ticked, you will need to tick it and restart your computer for the change to take effect. Screen SettingsYou will find this site easier to navigate if your screen resolution is set to 1024 x 768 or greater.Click 'Start' > Select 'Settings' > Select 'Control Panel' > Select 'Display'> Select the 'Settings' Tab and move the Screen Resolution slider towards the right. |
