Water Entitlement and Dam Permit Map

The Water Entitlement and Dam Permit Map allows you to view allocation off-takes and dams. You can list all allocations or dams within a region or select a particular allocation to generate a water entitlement report.

Technical Requirements

This tool requires a broadband connection. It also requires the Sun Microsystems Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Version 5.0 Plugin. See Java Installation Instructions for more details.

Using the Water Entitlement and Dam Permit Map

The mapping tool allows you to navigate around the state to locate the allocation or dam you are interested in. Note: you may have already navigated to a particular property via the property search on the previous page. You can also navigate by the following methods: Clicking and dragging will zoom you into the selected region. Alternatively, you can double click on a catchment or subcatchment. This will zoom you to that region. If you zoom in too far, you can use the zoom out tool in the toolbar to zoom out. Once you are zoomed in to an appropriate level, allocations and dams will become visible.

Water Entitlement Report

Once you have located the allocation you are interested in, you can choose to generate a water entilement report. First you need to select the allocation with a single mouse click on the allocation. Once you have selected an allocation, the licence number and client's name will be displayed in the info panel in the tool bar. You can then click the 'Water Entitlement Report' button to generate an on screen report. You can download a PDF version of this report by clicking the 'Download' Button at the bottom of the report page.

Dam Details

You can get basic details of a dam by selecting the dam with a single mouse click on the dam. Once you have selected a dam, the dam ID, status and client's name will be displayed in the info panel in the tool bar. Dam information will also be listed in the water entitlement report detailed above.

Catchment/Subcatchment Allocation and Dam Listing

You can choose to generate a listing of all allocations or dams within a particular catchment or subcatchment. First you need to select a catchment or subcatchment with a single mouse click over the region. Once you have selected a region, it's name (or ID) will be displayed in the info panel in the tool bar. You can then click the 'Report All Allocations' or 'Report All Dams' button to generate an on screen listing. You can download a CSV version of this listing by clicking the 'Download As CSV' Button at the bottom of the page.

Property Allocation and Dam Listing

You may have navigated to a particular property via the property search on the previous page. If so, the property will be selected. The property ID will be displayed in the info panel in the tool bar. You can then click the 'Report All Allocations' or 'Report All Dams' button to generate an on screen listing of all allocations or dams within that property. You can download a CSV version of this listing by clicking the 'Download As CSV' Button at the bottom of the page.

Other tools on the map include a zoom out to full tasmania view button and panning arrows. There is also a layer control tool which allows you to turn layers on and off. Note: Dam and Allocation off-take layers only become visible when you are zoomed in close.
